We are a community of like-minded women who love the music, styles and lifestyles of the Pinup/Rockabilly culture. We pride ourselves on being strong women of the community who exemplify southern charm, style and class. We are dedicated to working with local charities and non-profit organizations in Alabama to help raise awareness for their specific need or cause. We are a supportive and tight-knit group of women who share similar interests in community outreach programs, giving back to our community, being positive role models and who share a passion for anything that pertains to the 1940s-1950s. We guarantee that you will not only have a wonderful experience paying it forward within our community, but you will also experience a genuine sisterhood of women linked by common interests.
Before you apply, please read below so you have a better understanding of what will be required of you as a Birmingham Pinup prospect. Our board members review every application, if our board feels you fill all the requirements we will notify you of your acceptance as a prospect. If you are selected as a prospect, you will be on a probationary period for 3-5 months. You and your significant other will also be subject to a background check. Please understand this is due to the fact we often work with minors and we also include our children in numerous functions we host or attend.
We will require you to create a public pinup fan page (approved by Birmingham Pinups) so we can start with a formal introduction on our social media sites and include you in our closed FB group.
You are required to attend all the bi-monthly meetings; the meeting location is typically at a local restaurant. If you are unavailable for a scheduled meeting, please contact Melissa.
We also ask that you participate in a community service program or assist a charity once a month. You are also required to participate and assist with the quarterly community service program the Birmingham Pinups are involved in.
*We are not a modeling agency** We do not guarantee or promise modeling or photo opportunities outside of Birmingham Pinups’ motive, motto or media usage. We do reserve photography rights in all photo shoots affiliated with the Birmingham Pinups.
We will heavily on you to share events, links, and information that we will post regarding the monthly charity or event we are working with on a weekly basis. The only monetary requirements are $5.00 per month (to help fund our monthly meetings) and a one-time fee of $20 for an official Birmingham Pinup t-shirt. You will need to wear the t-shirt to some of the events we host or attend.
Your participation and attitude will be a huge factor and will greatly attribute to our final decision in whether we invite you to become an official Birmingham Pinup. As previously stated the Birmingham Pinup prospect period is between 3-5 months long. If you stay active on our social media accounts, have a positive attitude and attend the meetings and events that will greatly influence your chances of being considered as an official Birmingham Pinup member. After the trial period, our board members will review your performance and an official decision will be made.
