Birmingham Pinups is a community of like minded individuals who live and enjoy the lifestyles of the Pinup/Rockabilly/Psychobilly culture which is influenced by the 1940s-1950s music, clothing, cars and overall way of life. We pride ourselves on being strong women of the community who exemplify southern charm, style and class.
Our organization is dedicated to working with local charities and non-profit organizations in Birmingham, AL and surrounding areas to help raise awareness for their specific need or cause.
One of our local projects we are so honored to be a part of is the “Bombshell” calendar that we worked to produce with the Southern Museum of Flight and Drew Burke of Drewburkephoto.com. This Pinup style calendar that featured strong women of the community posed with historical planes and aviation themed scenarios. The project was created to help raise money for the Mary Alice Beatty scholarship fund that is given to women between the ages of 15 -25 who want to pursue a career in aviation or aerospace technology.
We have also worked with the Bama Bully Rescue by hosting a fundraiser where we raised almost $1,000 for their veterinarian bills. We also assisted on their very first “Bombshell and Bully” themed pinup style calendar.
We also partnered with Birmingham Oddities to create a Birmingham Oddities Pinup calendar. A portion of the proceeds from the calendar sales were donated to a local non-profit organization called “Three Hots and a Cot”. This organization works with veterans in the Birmingham area to help get them off the streets, help with addiction, work and housing as well as many other issues that are unfortunately very common with retired veterans.
